Are AURO paints odourless?
Paints made of natural raw materials are not entirely odorless. However, their fragrance comes from essential oil which is used in wall paints to prevent skinning or as a solvent.
Tip: Products from our Aqua range are relatively odour-free since they are 100% solvent-free.
How long can AURO products be stored?
Generally, our products have an almost unlimited shelf life if they are stored in a cool but frost-free place. Longtime experience has shown that even products that have been stored for a very long time can be used by our costumers without any problems.
Legislation does not require the indication of a storage stability period of a best-before date. Nevertheless, due to a contractual agreement with our insurer, we mention the storage stability period on the labels. However, this period has nothing to do with the actual usability of the product. The indicated storage stability period starts with the purchase of the product and, as a rule, it will be surpassed by far. In case of doubt, an odour test will show if the product can still be used although it was stored for a long time. Also if the product can be stirred up as usual without showing visible anomalies, there ist every indication that it can still be used. Finally, usability can be ascertained beyond doubt by means of a test application that is examined after drying.
How many years have you been in business?
Auro started its operation in 1983 in Germany. Since then, it has expended its market worldwide. Fortunately, the products are now available in the USA!
What is the difference between AURO products and other natural paints?
AURO is one of the very few companies who offer products that deserve the characterisation ‘natural paint’. AURO products are consistently produced from raw materials coming from organic or mineral sources.
A truly natural paint can contain only raw materials from sustainable or mineral sources, it should not contain petrochemistry, and all raw materials have to be declared.
AURO focuses on plant sources as suppliers of steadily renewable raw materials.
A truly natural product helps to preserve an intact, sound environment and benefits consumers by the use of reliably natural raw materials. At the end of its life cycle, a natural paint can be composted and does not have to be disposed of as hazardous waste, as is mostly the case with conventional, petrochemical paints.
What is your return and refund policy?
If you want to return an item, contact us throug the online "Contact Us" form to request a Return Merchandise Authorization number. You must make this request within 30 days of receiving the shipment.
Be sure to specify that you want a "Return Authorization" in the body of your "Comments/Inquiries"

Undamaged and unopened products can be returned for a refund within 30 days of the original purchase date. All returns will be assessed a 25% restock fee and no refund will be made on shipping costs. You must have a valid receipt dated within 30 days or less from the original purchase date in order to receive a refund, exchange or store credit. Items must be returned in their original packaging.
All credit card purchases will be refunded back to the original credit card that merchandise were purchased on. In the event there is no receipt showing credit card used or credit card is not available, we will mail you a check or issue you a store credit in the form of a Gift Card according to your preference.
Please note that we are not responsible of return shipping costs. It is your responsibility to inspect your package at the time of reception to detect any damage related to transport as the carrier will be responsible for it. If you are returning an undamaged item, the shipping fees are your responsibility.
Which product can I use without hesitation for the treatment of wooden toys or cribs?
You'll be on the safe side with AURO because our products have been tested in accor dance with DIN EN 71, part 3: 'safety of toys', and DIN 53160: 'saliva and perspiration-proof'.
Why does AURO not label any products "suitable for allergic persons"?
The increasing number of illnesses caused by allergies has shown that there is virtually no substance to which humans might not be allergic.
This is why we consider the generalized labeling of products as "suitable for allergic persons" to be misleading. Thanks to our declaration of ingredients, however, allergic persons are able to find out whether the product contains an ingredient which may cause an allergic reaction.
